Plant a Native Irish Woodland Tree
Research suggests that planting trees is our most impactful activity for sucking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and stabilising our weather systems. When carbon sequestration is needed, the best technology is a tree.
Did you know:
- Ireland has just 11% of its land covered with trees
- Native trees cover only 2% of Ireland
- Most native Irish woodlands are tiny (like our own 100 acres)
- The majority of Ireland’s forests are conifer plantations from the twentieth century
Our tree planting scheme enables you to give the gift of a tree by providing you with the opportunity to have a tree planted in the name of a person of your choice.
This tree will be numbered and a certificate will be issued recording the name of the person for whom the tree is planted . You can include any dedication you wish on the certificate to personalize it as you choose.
Drumhierny estate is predominantly covered by forest and woodlands with both broadleaf and conifer trees growing within the grounds. We aim to rejuvenate, encourage and maintain the natural habitats, securing the estate for generations to come as we recognize that commerciality and the environment need to work hand in hand.
Through our ‘plant a native Irish woodland tree’ scheme and compensate for your carbon footprint.
Your tree will be planted within our estate amongst our 100 acres of Irish Natural Woodland.
