“And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.”
Forest bathing, known as ‘Shinrin yoku’ in Japan, where it originated, it is a process of relaxation. It is simply a method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply. This is beneficial as it helps destress and boost health in a natural way. Experience the facilities, take time out as a couple or enjoy as a group. Laze in a lounger, snuggled up with a warm blanket or hang out in a hammock with the tree canopy above you.
Whatever the weather this is an experience not to be missed.
Your wellbeing journey begins when you check in at Reception, from here you will be shown to the changing rooms where you will be given a towel & bathrobe, can get ready & store your belongings in a locker. We recommend you begin with a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tubs, follow this up with a detoxifying seaweed bath after which some relaxation on the outdoor deck area & spacious sauna makes the perfect wind down. You will need approximately 2 hours for this experience (this includes 20 minutes for showering/changing at the end)
We recommend you pre-book to avoid disappointment.
Why not make a day out of it and visit our Woodpecker Café? Located a short stroll away from The Wellbeing Sanctuary, the Woodpecker Cafe offers tea/coffee, snacks & treats along with croissants & pastries in the morning with delicious pizza, wine & prosecco available from 12 noon.
With 5km of tracks & trails throughout the estate also, you can either start or end your wellbeing experience with a stroll or brisk walk through the woodlands – whichever takes your fancy!

When you sooth your body physically, often the mind and the emotions follow suit. The effect is long-lasting and helps promote well-being. It may even help you get a better nights sleep. The sauna uses dry heat produced from a stove to escalate the room temperature up to 195’F (90.5’C) with very low humidity. Relax & unwind in this warm cocoon.
When you enter the sauna your skin temperature rises, your pulse rate soars and your blood vessels become more dilated. This happens as your heart begins to pump more blood. Of course you also begin to sweat which removes many toxins from your body. The overall result is deep relaxation. The average person loses about a pint of sweat in just a short session in the sauna. After your session drink plenty of water to rehydrate your body.
