Walking - Hiking

Outside of the estate, our local area is made for exploring.

The River Shannon & Shannon Blueway are both located only a stone’s throw from the entrance to Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway. The Shannon Blueway will take you all the way to Drumshanbo either on the canal or alongside it on the walking and cycle trail, delight as you watch boats navigate the loughs before finishing up on the floating boardwalk at Acres lake where you will find a large childrens playground, tennis courts, and an outdoor heated swimming pool which is open seasonally. Treat yourself to one of the many delights at Jinnys Tea Rooms right at the end of the trail, or continue a little further to The Jackalope Café or Alens Bistro.

With Leitrim’s unspoiled drumlin hills and picturesque country roads, there is a rural haven waiting to be discovered by those who cherish a slower pace of life and are looking to spend some quality time in the great outdoors.

Beara-Breifne Way Passport

A unique walking passport has been created which you can use to catalogue your progress over days, months or even years. Each community has chosen a stamp to represent its character, and as you collect your passport stamps, you’ll get to meet some of the people behind the walk’s creation.
